Pamplemousse turns a broad set of commitments into a structure you can act on. Begin with an area of responsibility, shape an outcome, divide it when useful, and identify the next concrete move.
1. See what you are responsible for
Groves represent the enduring areas of work and life that ask for attention: health, home, finances, a client portfolio, a team, or another responsibility you need to keep in view.
Together, they form a commitment inventory, a reviewable picture of what you are tending beyond the most urgent item on today’s list.
2. Give each outcome a clear home
A Grapefruit is a project within a Grove. It holds the work required to reach a defined outcome without confusing that temporary effort with the larger responsibility around it.
For more complex projects, Segments divide the work into meaningful phases. Use them when they add clarity; skip unnecessary structure when they do not.
3. Turn intent into action
Seeds are concrete tasks. Sprouts are the smaller steps needed to complete them.
You can capture a Seed before deciding exactly where it belongs. Unfiled Seeds wait in Inbox until you are ready to place them in the appropriate Grove, Grapefruit, or Segment.
4. Act, finish, and review
Today gathers due work, recurring routines, and current focus for the mode you are using. The Board provides a visual workflow from newly planted work through completion. Finished Seeds move to Harvest, where they can be found and restored.
Reporting and on-request suggestions help you step back from individual actions and review the broader system. They support planning; they do not make decisions or complete work on your behalf.

Publishing a quarterly report
- Create a Work Grove for Client Operations.
- Add a Grapefruit called Q3 Impact Report.
- Divide it into Segments: Research, Draft, Review, Publish.
- Add a Seed called Draft the executive summary.
- Add Sprouts for selecting metrics, writing the opening, and checking the final figures.
- Attach source documents as Pulp and connect the client reviewer as a Branch.
- Harvest the Seed when it is complete and review project progress in context.
The five-level hierarchy is available for structure, but you do not have to use every level for every piece of work.
