Pamplemousse

Groves · Areas and portfolios

Give every enduring commitment a place.

A Grove is an area of life or work that requires ongoing attention. It may contain many projects over time, but it remains after any single project is finished.

Organize around responsibility, not urgency

An inbox tells you what arrived. A Grove tells you what the work belongs to.

Health, finances, home, a client portfolio, and team leadership are not tasks to complete once. They are continuing areas of responsibility. Groves keep those areas visible even when none of them is making noise today.

Build a commitment inventory

Viewed together, your Groves become an inventory of the roles, responsibilities, relationships, aspirations, and obligations you are actively tending.

That broader view can help surface neglected areas and competing demands before they become emergencies. It also creates a stable frame for review: not only “What is due?” but “What have I committed to maintaining?”

Connect the reason, the work, and the context

A Grove can bring several kinds of information together:

  • Roots preserve the long-term reason the Grove matters.
  • Grapefruits hold active projects and outcomes.
  • Seeds hold concrete actions.
  • Branches connect relevant people and relationship history.
  • Pulp keeps notes, links, files, and supporting material nearby.

The result is not just a container. It is a durable context for making decisions.

Make the structure your own

Pamplemousse offers broad Life Groves as a starting point, not a prescription for a correct life. Rename them, add your own, archive what no longer fits, or use a different organizational method entirely.

Groves can also support familiar approaches such as PARA or GTD: areas remain stable while projects, resources, and next actions change around them.

Illustrative example

A Health Grove

A user creates a Health Grove with:

  • A Root: Maintain the energy and mobility to stay active
  • A Grapefruit: Complete physical-therapy program
  • A recurring Seed: Plan weekday lunches
  • A Branch: Physical therapist
  • Pulp: Exercise instructions and appointment notes

The therapy program can eventually finish while the Health Grove remains available for the next project, routine, or decision.

A commitment inventory is a recommended approach, not a required methodology. Groves organize information; they do not determine whether a commitment should be accepted, continued, or deprioritized.
